Hello! I'm Elizabeth, owner of Blue Marble Productions
in Milwaukee's North Shore. I specialize in nonfiction storytelling—whether that's through a magazine article,
a book, a video, or even a calendar.

Publishing background: I have more than 30 years

of experience as a professional editor, copy editor, proofreader, and writer. I'm currently a full-time Senior Copy Editor (and fact-checker!) at Trusted Media Brands, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where I work mostly on Reader's Digest magazine. Before that, I spent a couple of decades freelancing as an independent contractor, and in earlier years I was an on-staff editor at various publishing companies in Chicago, with jobs including Managing Editor of Chef magazine, Associate Editor of Fancy Food & Culinary Products magazine, and Features Editor of ethnicgrocer.com (before the dot-com bubble crashed). A splash of video: After a highly enjoyable time working my way up the editorial ladder in Chicago, I headed
west and trained in documentary video production at 
U.C. Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism. My thesis documentary, Indiana Aria, won a Student Academy Award (largely an effort to encourage student filmmakers, but I got to be up on that very same stage, giving an acceptance speech in a fancy dress and updo). And my next documentary, Atlantis Approaching/That Sinking Feeling, was produced with a Fulbright Scholarship to New Zealand (truly one of the most fascinating and challenging times of my life). School and sabbaticals: Before all that, I earned a Bachelor's degree in English from Carleton College, then taught conversational English in central Japan, then briefly roamed around Asia and Europe (including a summer stint as a busker in Paris, creating a voice/guitar act with the subway trains of Paris as a moving stage).

I'm now back home in the Midwest, living in the Milwaukee area with my amazing husband (who took a sabbatical from his job to help me produce Atlantis Approaching in the key and indispensable role of "tech guy"), our two awesome boys, and our sweet cat, Misty.
